1. We collect a minimal amount of personal information from people that Join LA-Fun.com. Current fields include: First Name, Last Name (optional), E-mail address, Year of Birth, Gender, Occupation (optional) and ZipCode.

2. We ask that when you create an account with LA-Fun.com that you choose a password that is different from your other accounts online and in the real world. This minimizes your risk in the event that the security of the database/website is compromised.

3. If you attend one of our speed dating events, we maintain your "matches" in our database.

4. If you attend one of our speed dating events and "match" with another individual, the other person will be provided with your First Name and E-mail address. Note: If your E-mail address contains personally identifiable information like (janesmith@yahoo.com or jane.smith@bigcompany.com) then your match may now know your last name or where you work or some other personal information.

5. When you visit LA-Fun.com we capture basic web statistics like IP Address, Date/Time, web pages visited, web browser used, referrer, and so forth. This information is used for security and to track web site usage.

6. If you choose to contact us via our contact us page, we will have your e-mail address, name, and message.

7. All data may be stored indefinitely in our database or on backup media.

8. We employ 128 bit SSL for many of our web pages. In particular, join us, contact us, and log in web pages. This is an added level of security for your data. It does not guarantee that the encryption cannot be broken.

9. We do not sell, rent, or lease your information to third parties unless we specifically mention it within a particular event description.

10. If we cross promote an event with another group (third party, business, social group website, …), we may share "sign-up" lists. This allows us to facilitate the checking-in process, get necessary resources (restaurant, helpers, nametags, …). We always require that the list be only used for the event and not for any other uses.

11. If you sign-up for an event, the event leader may be able to contact you via e-mail to send to you an event reminder, last minute update on the event details, and so forth. In most cases, the event leaders do not have access to your e-mail address. LA-Fun’s e-mail system forwards the message to you on the events leaders behalf. Note: if you have an "auto-responder" on your e-mail account, then it is possible for the event leader to now know your e-mail address. "Auto-responders" are usually used when a person goes on vacation, is out of office, is sick, and so forth.

12. All events that you attend are at your own risk. We are not responsible for the actions of the event leader or event participants or the actions of others.

13. We may store your basic information in a third party database. This allows us to securely store your information.

14. We may store your basic information in a third party website. This can allow us to provide other services like e-mail event reminders, monthly newsletters, and so forth. The Privacy Policies of these thrid party websites may be different than LA-Fun.com. We will try to insure that your data is not used for any other purpose other than intended, though we cannot absolutely guarantee this.

15. Very few people have access to your data. Those that do may include LA-Fun administrators, network administrators, database administrators, web and application developers. Your data, if provided, to these people will be used to enhance the website and your overall LA-Fun experience.

16. We don’t send our members unnecessary emails. We do send out a monthly e-mail that lists some of the upcoming events. Sometimes, we may notify you of other things that we might think will be of interest to you (we don’t do this often). We also send out event reminders for events that you have sign-up for.

17. This Web site may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we, LA-Fun.com, are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites.  We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information.  This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site. LA-Fun.com may have co-branding and/or framing relations with other companies. In this case, you should be familiar with the privacy policies of both companies, since you may be subject to each of them. LA-Fun.com will not be liable to you for any actions of third parties whom you have interacted with from our site.

18. We have the right to ban people from attending our events.

19. We have the right to sell our website and corresponding data to another entity. We will make sure that the new entity respects our Privacy Policy.

We may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site. This includes, but is not limited to, any defense to any claim in which LA-Fun.com in a defendant, to assist in any investigations by law enforcement agencies, or violations of any LA-Fun.com policy.

21. While we employ various levels of security on the website and on our servers and databases, we are not responsible for anyone that illegally gains access to your data (either through hacking, back doors in the operating system, and so forth).

22. We have the right to update the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service without having to notify you.

23. We have a few different ways that you can un-subscribe from our e-mail list. Please allow up to 72 hours for your unsubscribe request to be processed.

Method 1: You can send to us a simple friendly message through our Contact Us page (https://www.LA-Fun.com/contactus.aspx). In the past, we have had a few individuals that have sent to us some rather mean messages. If you are a mean person, please leave the state of California. We don’t need you here. We run this website and events for fun, to meet people, to network, and so forth.

Method 2: Some e-mails that we send out may contain an actual un-subscribe link, you can click the link. You may be redirected to another website requesting that you confirm the actual unsubscribe.

Method 3: You can "reply to" an e-mail that we have sent to you. We highly recommend that you do NOT use this method. It is not guaranteed to work. Emails get lost, some get tossed in the "bulk" folder, some get deleted by accident, and so forth.
